Find Rockville Court Records

Start any Rockville court search at the county level. Rockville has no municipal court or city docket portal of its own, so every public case tied to the town is filed and searched under Parke County. The county clerk keeps the official record and issues certified copies, while the courthouse confirms hearing settings. A Rockville court docket viewed online may list the case header and its events in order, but sealed matters, older files, and certified documents still take a phone call or a visit. Knowing that town government and the county courthouse are separate offices keeps you from knocking on the wrong door.

Rockville population context for Parke County court records

Rockville is a small county seat, and that role shapes where its court records live. Population figures say nothing about docket volume or court workload.

Rockville Is the Courthouse City

2,5102020 Census
2,5892024 estimate
#1Parke incorporated-place rank

Rockville is Parke County's largest incorporated place under the common 2020 Census baseline, and it serves as the county seat. A later Indiana State Data Center estimate adds context. Neither population figure, though, tells you anything about court cases. The distinction that matters is geographic. Rockville holds the courthouse that serves all of Parke County. A matter heard there can arise anywhere in the county, and a Rockville resident's public case runs through the same countywide system.

Inside the Rockville Municipal Court

There is no independent Rockville Municipal Court. Current official court directories, the MyCase court list, the Indiana Judicial Service Report, and Parke's own pages all point the same way. That court is Parke Circuit Court, court code 61C01. No Rockville city or town judge exists, and no separate municipal portal does either. Traffic or ordinance activity inside town limits changes none of that. Before assuming otherwise, confirm the filing assignment with the county clerk. Do not pick a similarly named court elsewhere. Parke Circuit Court sits at 116 West High Street, Room 203, Rockville. It answers the phone at (765) 569-5671. The Parke County Clerk works out of Room 204 in the same courthouse. The clerk can be reached at (765) 569-5132. Courtroom and scheduling questions go to the court. The clerk keeps the case record, handles filings and payments, and fills copy or certification requests.

Two High Street Destinations

Official Rockville town government page distinguishing Town Hall from Parke County court records

Myth: Town Hall is the place to request a Rockville CCS because it is the municipal government office. Fact: Rockville Town Hall is listed at 119 West High Street, while the county courthouse is at 116 West High Street. The town office handles municipal government business; judicial records are held through the Parke Clerk. The near-neighbor addresses make this a particularly easy mistake for local visitors.

Town Hall is the place for town administration and town-government records. The Clerk handles filed court cases, CCS printouts, certified copies, balances, and older judicial files. A town ordinance source can explain the rule behind a violation, but it cannot prove a court case was filed or how it ended.

Finding Rockville Court Dates

A public MyCase CCS may show a scheduled event. The statewide Indiana Court Calendar lists no participating Parke court, so that public feed is not the definitive Rockville calendar. The gap does not mean hearings stop. The court keeps setting them. Check the newest CCS entry, then call Room 203 to confirm the date, time, location, and any reset before you drive over.

DateThe calendar date attached to the latest scheduled CCS event.
TimeThe listed start time; verify whether it is an individual setting or a broader docket call.
CourtroomParke Circuit Court’s assigned room or another location stated by the court.
JudgeThe judicial officer shown for that setting; assignments can change.
Setting TypeArraignment, pretrial, evidentiary hearing, trial, sentencing, compliance, or another docketed purpose.

When the Calendar Looks Empty

Do not treat an empty online calendar as a cancellation. Compare the latest CCS entry with any notice received, then call Parke Circuit Court. A continuance request is not an approved reset until the court acts.

Parke Local Rule 4.1 spells out what a continuance request must contain: its reasons, prior requests, notice to opposing counsel, the affected date, and an estimate of the delay. Those details explain a common docket confusion. A pending motion is one thing. An actual new setting is another. Keep the case number and the date from any notice handy when asking the court to reconcile conflicting entries.

Rockville Traffic Ticket Lookups

For an eligible ticket, try ePay Public Access. Use ticket information, driver-license information, or a name and birth date. MyCase also takes a citation number. It can pull up a public Parke case header and CCS. A citation written in Rockville still belongs to the county court system. No separate Rockville court or portal exists. The Parke Clerk can confirm assignment and payment status. Eligibility rules, portal processing charges, and the amount due can all change. A payment confirmation is not a certified disposition. Paying without understanding your response options can carry real legal consequences. So read first. For the countywide picture, use the full Parke County traffic court record route. It separates the court file from other agency records.

Rockville’s 1882 Courthouse

Rockville's stone courthouse has stood since 1882. Indiana judicial history calls it a Second Empire building. The grand exterior says nothing about online coverage, though. Fire took the first log courthouse in 1858, and with it the early records. So genealogy or any historical Parke County search should start with a careful clerk inquiry. MyCase simply does not reach that era.

Parke's Odyssey identifier went live in 2009. Older matters sometimes appear in the CCS as "converted event," which means migrated data rather than a newly filed action. When a sparse converted CCS and the courthouse file disagree, the clerk's official file controls.

How Rockville Cases Reach the County

Rockville fits no city-to-county template. The town has no independent local court of its own, so matters begin at the county level. Civil, criminal, probate, family, traffic, and ordinance cases assigned locally proceed through Parke Circuit Court, each under its own case type and access rules.

Docket flow: Rockville incident or dispute › Parke County filing assignment › Parke Circuit Court (61C01)

MyCase files everything under Parke County, with no Rockville grouping. That is by design, not an error. Federal cases run through a different system: the Southern District of Indiana's Terre Haute division. Appellate records belong to the state appellate clerks. For a county-level orientation, start with the Parke County court docket overview.

Room 204 Record Requests

Room 204 is where the real records live. Clerk Nicole Collings' office handles certified copies, CCS printouts, older files, and questions about what exists. Give staff the case number when you have it. Also name the record you want, the certification you need, and a way for them to reach you. Ask for a current quote, because the clerk posts no Parke-specific copy-fee schedule. Statewide manuals are reference points, not firm totals.

Mail and counter requests may both be possible through the clerk, while the court reporter separately holds transcripts and reporter-held material. A MyCase printout does not certify itself. Printing a portal image changes nothing. Say whether you want a plain copy, certified copy, disposition, payment history, or transcript, since these are different products that follow different workflows.

Who Can See Rockville Court Records

Indiana leans toward open court records. Non-confidential case headers and CCS events are usually public. The access still has limits, though. Juvenile, adoption, sealed, expunged, protection-order, medical, and personally identifying material may be excluded or redacted. A missing MyCase entry is not proof a case never existed, so request the judicial file from the clerk, and use a town custodian only for nonjudicial Rockville government records.

Key Rules:

Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records : govern public access, confidentiality, and court-record procedures.

Indiana Administrative Rule 9 : addresses remote access, bulk access, hours, calendars, dockets, and fees.

Access Rule 5 : identifies excluded cases, documents, and personal information.

Indiana Access to Public Records Act : governs public records generally, while judicial records follow the court-specific access rules.

MyCase Stays Countywide

Rockville is the county seat, which can make MyCase look more local than it really is. There is no Rockville filter. There is no town-court choice either. The interface searches Parke County records as a whole, so a result may involve an event elsewhere in the county, and a Rockville address may never appear in the public fields. Search by case identifier and category. Then confirm the filing through the CCS and the clerk.

Always keep the case number handy with any request, so staff can tell similarly titled matters apart.
