Parke County Court Record Requests
Search MyCase first. Jot down the 61C01 case number and the CCS date you need. Nicole Collings, the Parke County Clerk, keeps the Parke Circuit Court case files, CCS copies, certifications, and filing and payment records. Reach her office by phone, mail, or at the counter. The official clerk page lists current local contact details.
Match the record to its custodian. Transcripts belong to the court reporter. Appellate records go to Indiana's appellate clerks, and statewide criminal histories to the Indiana State Police. OJA holds agency records and reviews compiled-data applications. MyCase cannot convert any of those into a Parke Clerk record.
- Search MyCase and identify the complete Parke case number.
- Name the exact CCS event, document, order date, or record type.
- Choose online viewing, clerk counter, phone inquiry, or a mailed request.
- Ask for inspection, an ordinary copy, or a certified copy and obtain a current fee quote.
- Arrange delivery or pickup and verify the result against the originating record.

Kinds of Court Records
Know what you are asking for. The docket, or Chronological Case Summary (CCS), is just a list of dated events; the filed document holds the actual text. A certification is a clerk-authenticated copy. Access rules, costs, and custodians can differ for each.
- CCS or docket entries for filings, settings, orders, and results.
- Complaints, petitions, answers, motions, notices, and briefs.
- Signed orders, judgments, decrees, and dispositions.
- Available exhibits, audio, transcripts, and reporter-held material.
- Criminal, civil, family, probate, small-claims, and traffic files, subject to restrictions.
Seeing an event online does not mean its attachment is remotely available. Ask the clerk for the named document and its date.
Parke CCS Versus Official File
MyCase is generally free and works well for targeted public case information. Headers, parties, CCS events, some documents, and financial fields all appear there. What it shows is not necessarily complete, though, and it is never certified. An image pulled from a court portal stays unofficial. Its origin alone does not gain it a clerk's seal.
| Product | Contains | Best Source |
|---|---|---|
| CCS | Dated event history | MyCase or Parke Clerk |
| Filed document | Actual pleading, order, or judgment | Linked file or Parke Clerk |
| Certified copy | Clerk-authenticated record | Parke Clerk |
| Transcript | Spoken proceeding | Court reporter |
Use the free index to pinpoint the exact product, then ask the custodian for that item.
Court Records: What They Contain
Contents vary by case type and access status. A Parke court record may combine a case header, filed pleadings, service entries, motions, orders, hearing notices, judgment, CCS, and available exhibits. Financial panels list charges and payments, though they may not match the clerk's current account.
| Case Number | Parke identifier such as 61C01-YYMM-TYPE-SEQ. |
|---|---|
| Pleadings | Petitions, complaints, answers, motions, and related filings. |
| Orders & Judgments | Signed rulings and final or interim decisions. |
| CCS | The dated chronology of case activity. |
| Exhibits | Available evidence or attachments, subject to access and retention. |
Rule 5 may require redaction or withholding even when the event itself is public.
Parke Transcript Requests Stay Separate
The 2024 Indiana Judicial Service Report identifies one reporter in Parke's local structure. A transcript is not the CCS. You cannot produce one by clicking a docket event. Give the reporter the case number, proceeding date, hearing type, and the scope you want. Ask about preparation time and price.
Audio and exhibits may follow separate court or reporter procedures. Parke Local Rule 12 governs evidence retention. So ask about an exhibit before assuming it still exists. A later request cannot revive material lawfully disposed of under that rule.
Copy Fees and Certification
An ordinary copy just reproduces a record. A certified copy adds the clerk's authentication and may carry a seal. State clerk resources list $1.00 for a document copy or letter/legal page and $1.00 for certification under seal, but county ordinances and specific schedules can change those charges. Treat the amounts as a guide, not a guaranteed Parke quote.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| MyCase public search | Generally free |
| State reference for ordinary page | $1.00, subject to local rules |
| State reference for seal certification | $1.00, subject to local rules |
| Registered or certified mailing under Parke Rule 16 | $4.50 per item or prevailing clerk cost when applicable |
| Transcript, exhibit, postage, or special data | Ask the custodian for a quote |
The clerk resource library supplies the statewide reference.

Ask the Parke Clerk directly. The office can quote the current local fee and estimate completion.
Parke APRA Requests Need Routing
The Indiana Office of Judicial Administration APRA form covers agency-held records. It is not the first route for a Parke Circuit Court case file. Expect to supply contact and delivery details, a clear record description, and your certification needs. The form warns that a request may itself become public. It also notes that mailed copies can cost money. The official OJA public-records form shows those fields.

For one Parke case, skip the form and bring the case number and document description to the local clerk.
Parke Docket Versus Bulk Data
OJA's data application deals with compiled data, recurring extracts, and uses needing separate review. It is no shortcut for bulk downloading names from Parke dockets. For a single order, CCS, or judgment, stick with MyCase and the Parke Clerk. The OJA data application illustrates that distinct process. Skip it for routine lookups.

The separate form makes the single-case and compiled-data routes easier to distinguish.
Access Rules for Court Records
Indiana's Access to Public Records Act sets a general framework, but court-access rules govern judicial records. Rule 5 identifies confidential cases, sealed and privileged material, personal identifiers, medical and mental-health information, custody reports, victim and witness data, and other exclusions. Rule 6 covers extraordinary restriction through a verified request and legal findings.
Key Rules:
Indiana Code 5-14-3 provides the general public-records framework.
Access to Court Records Rule 5 defines key exclusions and redactions.
Access to Court Records Rule 6 controls extraordinary restriction requests.
A public CCS event can sit beside a private attachment. The clerk applies the rule document by document.
Parke Appeals Use Another Clerk
An appeal shows up in the Parke CCS, yet the appellate record sits elsewhere. The Clerk of the Appellate Courts keeps that file. Which court depends on the case. It could be the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, or the Indiana Tax Court. So don't ask the Parke Clerk to certify a document that lives only in the appellate file. The Indiana appellate records request opens that separate route. The form shows what the state clerk needs from you.

Start with the Parke case number and the appeal event on the CCS. From there, track down the appellate cause number for the state clerk.
Parke Mail Request Checklist
Keep a mailed request narrow enough that the clerk can spot the right record. Say Parke County and the full case number. Name the exact item. That could be a complaint, motion, order, judgment, CCS event, or something else. Add the filing date and party role if you know them. Say what you want too: inspection, ordinary copy, certified copy, transcript, exhibit, audio, or payment history.
Include a delivery address and ask how to pay. Never send cash. Don't assume a fee from a statewide chart; ask whether postage, certification, research, or special handling applies. Parke Local Rule 16 sets a registered or certified mailing amount in covered situations. It is not a flat charge on every request.
Leave out Social Security numbers, account numbers, birth dates, and other private data the clerk doesn't need. If you're unsure who holds the item, describe it. Then ask whether the clerk, reporter, appellate clerk, or OJA has it.
Parke Historical Record Gaps
Older cases may take more than MyCase. A fire in 1858 damaged the Parke County courthouse. So no old name promises that every original record survived. Later files might rest on paper, sit in an archive, or appear as converted events with no linked image.
Give the clerk an approximate year, the case type, known parties, and the exact record you want. Ask what index or storage format exists for that era. If the portal search comes back empty, call it "not found in the public search," not proof that no proceeding ever occurred.
Parke Court Record Quality Check
Check the copy against your request. Match the case number, court, document title, filing date, and signature page. Confirm whether you got an ordinary copy or a certified one. If pages seem missing, compare the CCS event with the document. Then ask whether an attachment was restricted, retained elsewhere, or simply unavailable.
Certification authenticates the copy; it doesn't interpret the order. Read later CCS entries for amendments, corrections, appeals, or superseding judgments. Ask the clerk for a current balance and the court for a current hearing date. Keep the clerk's receipt with any certified copy. Hold onto the full case number as well.
