Montezuma Court Docket Searches
Start at MyCase / Odyssey Public Access and choose Parke County from the court list. Montezuma has no separate entry there. The Case tab takes three identifiers. Use a case number, a citation number, or a cross reference. Prefer whichever one you have. The Name tab searches people and businesses. It offers optional first and middle names, plus a sounds-like control if a spelling is uncertain. When a name pulls up too many hits, narrow the results by category, such as Criminal & Citation, Civil, Family, or Probate. You can also filter by whether the case is open or closed.
- Collect the full citation or case number from the notice when available.
- Open MyCase, choose the Case or Name tab, and select Parke County.
- Choose the category that matches the matter; do not add Montezuma as though it were a court.
- Review the case header, status, and newest Chronological Case Summary entries.
- Call the Parke Clerk if the result is absent, restricted, incomplete, or needed as a certified record.
MyCase is a public view of the docket, not the official record. Documents may be missing. Restricted cases, sealed information, expunged matters, and older material can drop out of view. Old records that were migrated sometimes show up as a "converted event." So a search that returns nothing does not prove no case exists. The system caps how many results it shows. Search with a precise case number rather than a broad name whenever you can.
Montezuma’s Dated Population Picture
Montezuma is the second largest of Parke County's incorporated places, going by the 2020 Census baseline most people use. The Indiana State Data Center puts its July 1, 2024 estimate a touch higher. Those are population numbers, nothing more. They say nothing about court filings or how busy a docket might be.
Why does that matter? Searchers often assume a town this size runs its own town docket. The official record points the other way, toward a shared Parke County route. So size alone should never lead you to expect a separate court or a separate stack of cases for Montezuma.
Inside the Montezuma Municipal Court
Montezuma has no municipal court of its own. Check the current official directories, the MyCase court selector, the Parke County court pages, or state judicial reporting. You will find the same answer every time. Parke Circuit Court, code 61C01, handles the work. No separate town judge or Montezuma docket system exists. So treat the missing town court as the real finding. Any citation, ordinance allegation, civil dispute, or criminal matter tied to Montezuma belongs with its actual county assignment.
Need to reach that court? Parke Circuit Court sits at 116 West High Street, Room 203, Rockville. It answers at (765) 569-5671. The Parke County Clerk works out of Room 204 at (765) 569-5132. Call the court about scheduling and hearings. The clerk keeps the case record. The clerk also handles copy and certification requests, and confirms filing or payment details.
Community Center Is Not Court

Montezuma's town government runs through a five-member at-large council. It meets on the third Thursday at 6:00 p.m. The venue is the Montezuma Community Center, 800 North Jackson Street. Useful civic information, but none of it is judicial. You cannot search a CCS there, because the building holds town meetings, not court files.
Where a record lives depends on what it is. Council agendas, ordinances, and administrative papers stay with town government. Anything filed in a judicial matter belongs to the clerk. That clerk is the one from the court handling the case.
Wrong-door check: A town ordinance explains a local rule, but it is not a court disposition. For proof of a filed violation or outcome, locate the Parke case and request the appropriate record from the county clerk.
Finding Montezuma Court Dates
MyCase sometimes lists a future setting in the CCS. Yet the live Indiana Court Calendar has not shown Parke County among its participating courts. Treat that as a publication gap alone. It does not mean no hearing is set. Check the newest docket event against any notice received. Then call Parke Circuit Court before driving over from Montezuma. That call matters most after a continuance motion. It also matters when an online entry conflicts with your paperwork.
| Date | The date attached to the latest scheduled event; verify that a later reset has not replaced it. |
|---|---|
| Time | The listed start time, which may be a docket call rather than a unique appointment. |
| Courtroom | The location supplied by Parke Circuit Court, not the Montezuma Community Center. |
| Judge | The judicial officer assigned to the setting; assignments may change. |
| Setting Type | Arraignment, pretrial, hearing, trial, sentencing, compliance, or another stated purpose. |
From Canal Town to MyCase

Montezuma dates its settlement to 1821, with formal establishment two years later in 1823. The Wabash and Erie Canal and later railroads shaped how the town grew. None of that history offers a shortcut to old judicial records. Modern public lookup runs through Odyssey and MyCase. For earlier or non-digitized files, ask the clerk directly.
Parke County's first courthouse burned in 1858, and records were lost in the fire. Give the clerk a date range, a record type, and any known names. Survival and online availability are two different questions. A genealogical researcher should keep them separate. One more wrinkle: a modern "converted event" in the docket may be a migrated legacy entry. It may not be a filing made on its conversion date.
Montezuma Traffic Ticket Lookups
Start with ePay Public Access for an eligible ticket. The interface accepts ticket details, driver-license information, or name and birth date. MyCase takes a citation number and may display the public Parke case header and CCS. Neither system creates a Montezuma court. The town runs no payment portal of its own. A ticket that fails to appear calls for a clerk inquiry. Ask the clerk to confirm assignment, eligibility, balance, and response date.
Portal fees and eligibility shift over time. An online receipt is not a certified disposition. Paying and contesting are separate choices, so never assume a payment button covers every procedure. For countywide payment and record distinctions, see the Parke County traffic court page.
Ordinance Page Versus CCS
| Source | What it answers | Correct custodian |
|---|---|---|
| Town ordinance | What municipal rule was enacted | Montezuma town government |
| Meeting record | What the council considered or approved | Town records custodian |
| Chronological Case Summary | What happened in a filed court matter | Parke County Clerk |
| Certified disposition | Official outcome of the judicial case | Parke County Clerk |
A town ordinance page answers one question only: what the local rules say. It proves nothing about a given person being cited. Nor does it prove a case being filed, or a judgment entered in Montezuma court. The CCS docket can mislead from the other side. It may list a case-type code without reproducing the full municipal text. Each source has its own job. Read the ordinance for the rule. Check the CCS for what actually happened in the case.
How Montezuma Cases Reach the County
Montezuma has no court tier of its own. Its cases skip any generic municipal ladder. Everything starts with whether an incident actually produced a Parke County filing. When it did, the matter lands in Parke Circuit Court. Civil, criminal, family, probate, traffic, and ordinance cases all run through that court. Its county clerk handles them too, when they are assigned locally.
Docket flow: Montezuma incident or dispute › Parke County filing assignment › Parke Circuit Court (61C01)
State appeals, federal cases, and agency records sit with a different office and portal. MyCase can still pin down the state trial-court case. For the wider county setup, the Parke County court docket overview lays it out. And remember: an address alone never settles jurisdiction.
Certified Records Require Rockville
For a certified Montezuma-related court record, go through the Parke Clerk in Rockville. Give the case number if you have it. Say exactly which item you need, whether certification is required, and where to send it. Ask for a current cost quote too, since Parke posts no fixed copy-fee schedule. State manuals and local rules offer context, but neither sets one total for every request.
Know what you are ordering. A CCS printout, a plain copy, a certified disposition, a payment history, and a transcript differ from one another. The court reporter keeps transcripts and reporter material. The clerk holds the court file itself. A printed page from a portal shows only what was on the screen at that moment. Treat it as a lead rather than a certified court record.
Who Can See Montezuma Court Records
Indiana court records that are non-confidential stay open at the courthouse. Online access is narrower. Some material stays excluded everywhere. That includes juvenile, adoption, sealed, expunged, mental-health, and protection-order files, plus medical and personal identifying details that may be redacted. For a judicial record, ask the clerk. Route a council, ordinance, or town-administration request to Montezuma's proper government office instead.
Key Rules:
Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records : set the court-specific framework for public and confidential records.
Indiana Administrative Rule 9 : covers remote access, dockets, calendars, bulk access, hours, and fees.
Access Rule 5 : identifies excluded cases, documents, and information.
Indiana Access to Public Records Act : applies generally to public records while court records follow judicial access rules.
When Montezuma Results Conflict
Start by writing down the case number and court code. Then note the date of your online check and the exact event that conflicts. Next, call the clerk about the record and the court about the live setting. An empty result does not mean a dismissal. A proposed continuance does not mean the date changed. An ePay balance is not the whole case file. Each system publishes a different slice of the matter. The office that holds the record is the final word.
For any Montezuma request, note the portal you checked. Also note the date, the county you selected, and the identifier you used. That short search log is worth the trouble. It helps the clerk tell a misspelled name from a citation not yet entered, a restricted case, a converted older entry, or a record held elsewhere. It also keeps an ordinance page or council record from posing as the official judicial history. A payment screen can pose as history too. So can a calendar gap. Before you rely on any public display for a deadline, verify it directly.
